Neil Cummings presents for the first time in Spain his work Museum Futures. Distributed.
Its 2058 and Moderna Museet, the first public Modern Art museum in europe is celebrating its centenary! Museum Futures: Distributed is a machinima record of the centenary interview with the Museum's executive Ayan Lindquist. Museum Futures explores a possible future for contemporary creative practice and its institutions; through vividly imagining the role of artists, museums, galleries, markets, manufactories and academies.
Alter
Polis brings together eight teams of architects to work on a Utopian
city from a humanist perspective. Each team has 11 working days ending
with the public presentation of their proposal. As part of this
production phase, an open work session will be offered, titled
“Conversations”, for all interested persons, the teams participating in
the project and a guest thinker who will lead the event.
Neil Cummings always collaborates in projects that focus on the
relationship between art, its institutions and political, social and
economic spheres. He has worked with international museums like Tate
Modern and Moderna Museet, as well as with the Bank of England,
Sotheby’s Auction House, Selfridges Department Store, and has even
impersonated a famous art dealer. In a rather unique way, his work
consistently questions both those cultural institutions which show and
communicate art to the public, and those which underestimate the value
of the artistic experience.
