Micro-meetings on Weaving Networks
April to June 2013
Weaving social participation networks
Weaving networks is a meeting space for people involved in participatory processes in any field: Social Collectives and Movements, Social Initiative Cooperatives, Social Institutions, Administration, Neighbours, etc. It works in the form of meetings and discussions, as a laboratory on practices for participation, networking and transforming the environment.
Micro-meetings of 3 hours are proposed. Here participants can share a table of practical experiences and an informal workspace, and participants are then free to move among the open groups set up to work on key issues found in the practical table discussions. This space will not attempt to establish fully and resolve the key issues, but to piece things together, raise doubts, generate consensus and disagreement, etc, all of which will form the material to be taken to other meetings.
We seek initiatives that promote social participation and that can be carried out in a short time. Actions that have a deep emotional impact on the people involved and affected. Actions of a "more or less ephemeral" nature that manage to shake up or revolutionise a group of people or a territory during that time. Actions that have a high impact on the community's group symbolic memory.
