News from Nowhere Part 7 announced the publication of the Parque utópico (Utopian Park) proposal on the Intermediæ Web site. As reported in earlier bulletins of News from Nowhere, Parque utópico (Utopian Park) is the result of a horizontal creative group process carried out by the artists and the institution in the work sessions of the Utopías platform. Following News from Nowhere 7, its development continued virtually on the Isla utópica (Utopian Island) wiki.

A project in
collaboration with atelier le balto (www.lebalto.de)
A garden is one of the purest ways of showing a process. Concepts like time, adaptabilitiy, change, and renewal are understood naturally when considered in the context of a garden, just about the closest you can get to nature in an urban setting.
Intermediæ is creating a new space at Matadero, Avant-Garden, with the collaboration of atelier le balto. Avant-Garden is the beginning of a long-lasting project where designing the garden will serve to develop many questions about how to build an urban garden for the community as a metaphor of creation, raising awareness, and stimulus.
During the project, elements will be added to the garden permitting a living work platform with the collaboration of gardeners, creators, communities, associations, educational centres... and all interested persons.

* Notes from the ninth and tenth session of Utopías, Friday 5 October.
The first stage of Utopías concluded with the presentation of the draft of the project developed by the artists over the past four weeks. The document, titled Parque utópico (Utopian Park), sets forth the generic idea for their proposal, its context, an initial plan for the workshops comprising it, and the work that each team member will carry out.
* Notes from the eighth session of Utopías, Monday 1 October.
On the Utopía Island wiki, which serves as a draft and discussion
forum, there is a general description of the Utopías project and work
* Notes from the fifth and seventh session of Utopías, week of 24-28 September.
During the game we played, as agreed in the previous session, several ideas arose and were linked as follows:
· The metaphor of a bridge between the space of the institution and the neighbourhood.
· Dream Landscape—neighbourhood residents show their hopes and dreams in a format still to be determined (paintings, photographs, virtual spaces, etc.).
· D.I.Y.: Do It Yourself, structure building workshops.
· Conflict Room, setting aside a space where two cultural, social or political agents with conflicting views work on conflict resolution.
· Inverse Exhibit or Laboratory of Ideas, presentation of the creative process, and the generation and investigation of ideas.
· The Artist as Institution, exchanging roles.
